Public Health England Report 2014

Estimating Local Mortality Burdens associated with Particulate Air Pollution [1]

Precis

This report breaks down the national mortality burden due to Particulate Matter by local authority. This covers the effects of Particulate Matter, and does not include the effects of NO2. It mus be noted that the mortality burden for PM's and NO2 do have an overlap, so figures for PM and NO2 cannot simply be added together to give overall burden. It should also be noted that these figures are based on pollution levels prevalent in 2010. The actual figures for today will be lower due to the acknowledged fact that pollution levels are improving.
