Precis
Latest report from the Committee on the Medical Effects of Air Pollutants which reduces the 40,000 deaths figure and highlights many uncertainties and caveats on the effects of air pollution. The report also contains a "minority report" demonstrating that there are clear divisions in scientific opinion on the health effects.
